Download it from the Files panel in your Insight-live.com account (it costs $15 for 6 months access). Current downloads only include the program file, starter recipe, materials, overrides data is built in. It functions as level 2, without need of a key. No features have been removed. It will never expire.
No. Insight-live has a much broader scope and is far superior, it is the future (it still does the chemistry but is much more about data and access-from-anywhere). We still support desktop Insight for users who need to convert data for import to insight-live or who must work off-line.
There is a direct relationship between the way ceramic glazes fire and their chemistry. Insight is a calculation tool anyone can use to learn and harness the power of glaze chemistry.
Without glaze chemistry you'll never really have control and you could be a slave to your suppliers or the trafficing in recipes that never work.
A desktop application for Windows, Linux, Macintosh that you download and install.
Insight was first released in 1979 and has been used world wide since. It is an excellent teaching tool for demonstrating the principles of formula/analysis/unity, limit formulas, LOI, and material-oxide relationships.

"I have to tell you that your Insight software is great! To think that I used to spend hours doing math to figure out stuff that your program takes seconds to do ... you did a great job on your program and I have not run into any problems with it. "
"Well, I am so pleased at your comprehensive approach to helping others be successful. I make exterior tile and am very concerned about proper fit and long-term product performance. I am so glad that your software can help me shorten what would otherwise be a very long learning curve. Thanks for turbocharging my learning curve."
"The installation of the software went with no problems. I am a fan of your work and have heard many good comments about INSIGHT. I am going to get it to help me make the best cone 6 glazes with the raw materials I can find."
"I ran the first of the video lessons on Insight, and I'm very impressed. It continues to be my favorite calculation program, and it keeps getting better. I especially like the SiB:Al ratio idea. It helps explain a lot of stuff."
"I have changed my computer for a new one which runs XP ... Can you help me? I have been using this program for years and would be really sad to loose it."
"I am a beginner potter setting up a studio at home. Having an extensive background in chemistry, I was elated to find a site addressing all the questions I had. I knew I didn't want to take the 'glaze junkie' approach. THANKS!!!"
